Effect of Speed

Just curious is speed plays a role in the number of triples or likelihood of hitting into a double play.
Also, does speed impact range? During player creation it probably makes sense to have them somewhat correlated, particularly for outfielders.

Off the top of my head, speed actually affects a lot of things. It is a factor in singles, doubles, and triples (Bigger in the triples area).
Also, it is a factor in beating out double plays, taging up for a sac fly & scoring from third on a ground out.
Obviously, its a factor in stolen bases.
It should be a factor in the ability to take an extra base on a single or double (ie scoring from first on a double, going from first to third on a single, and scoring from second on a single). But I'll have to confirm this.
I'm not sure if speed and range are colated. I'll check when I get home tonight. If not, I think its a good idea and I'll put it in before I redo the league drafts.

Just a note, speed and ranges were NOT correlated for the recent drafts. Sorry, I just didn't get to it yet.
