Which stat is the most important?

So I was just curious what you all thought about this.
I'm going through several different stats for my league. Trying to evaluate my players with most of the different formulas floating around out there.
The question is, if trying to find just one statistic to rate a pitcher or batter, which one would be best? Or more accurate, which stat is the most telling of who is the true contributors to a team?
(for the record, i'm rather found of calculating a fantasy baseball score to each player, plus they're runs created but its rather intricate...)
RC
(H+BB+HBP-CS-GIDP) x (TB+0.26(BB+HBP) +0.52(SF+SB)) / (AB+BB+HBP+SF)
Thoughts??:puzzled:

ok, most important for hitters is contact and power Vs righties. at least twice as important as vs lefties. for pitchers control matters more than velocity, and endurance isnt very important except for first round pick pitchers. first round pick pitchers suck when they have B- endurance.

In my opinion, the single most telling statistic that is available in SD is OPS for hitters, WHIP for relievers and ERA for starters.

Thank you, Bob, for your input.
I was just trying to find a quick way of, at a glance, geting an idea of who's doing the best.
Now what I want to know is, will the game statistics that aren't recorded ever get listed? Stuff like home and away records, GIDP, SF and the like. Just curious because I'm sampling a lot of stats that use stuff like that, and it's a pain to go into every game result screen to get the necessary info.

At some point I'm sure things like that will be included, but it probably won't happen for quite a while. Recording such information requires a complete overhaul of the way ABE functions. It's a big job and will get done at some point, but right now there are improvements that provide more value for less of a time investment.

That's what I figured.
Oh well, I like to watch the games unfold anyway, so it's not too much trouble for me to get the numbers.
Guess i'll just keep number crunching, which is fine, I'm a big fan of nerdy math equations anyways.
