All you Californians OK?

A 6.5 earthquake north of LA, good thing I live in the midwest, must be scary to go through an earthquake...
On the other hand, I've had my share of tornadoes, and those aren't fun either...

???? I didn't know there was a earthquake. I live in just outside of LA (southwest LA so maybe I was too far away)... Maybe I should check the news...

you know, we recently had an earthquake centered in richmond, and people in DC heard the quake. people who lived just aboud 1/2 a mile from us said that the stuff on their book shelves fell off and everything. we didnt even feel it.

california,

state government: horrible
aging hippies: too many, very sad
natural disasters: seem to all happen here, and never happens anywhere else
weather: makes up for everything else.

stater bros and food4less are still open. those strikers are really persistant. now that its almost christmas, the few that are open are unbeleivably crowded. we dont get all the natural disasters. blizzards and tornados are extremely rare. also, i dont remember the last time i saw an aging hippie. in fact, i can only remember ever seeing 1 hippie ever in cali

Must have been a hippie crackdown in California, or maybe they all migrated away...

most of the hippies are in san francisco.

I've never been to California, but my understanding is that all the aging hippies and left-wing whackos are in San Francisco--the rest of the state is socially liberal and fiscally conservative, and the Los Angeles area is very wealthy, snobbish, and stuck up...kind of like the D.C. area

u ever heard of compton? south la is not wealthy by any means. the extremely wealthy live in malibu, holltwood hills, etc. if u dont include southside, i agree with ur statement, duff.

South West LA goes from super rich Manhattan Beach and Palos Verdes, to middle class Torrance (were I live), to lower class Carson to crappy Compton.

fiscally conservative is kinda totally wrong. the taxes there are through the roof, and it has the second highest paid worthless people in the US (welfare). also when i went there i went to LA, and i went to muscle beach or whatever it is called, and the entire beach was either henna tatoos, aging hippies showing their horrible art, or aging hippies selling some sort of herb that makes you high, that hadnt been outlawed yet.

some hippy there was handing out these stupid pamphlits, and i kicked his ass. he had something that said something like "George Bush is hitler" and another one that said "hitler was good" or something, where he was just trying to piss people off. anyway i asked him if George Bush is good, and he said no, and i handed him the 2 pamphlets and left.
