Tanking!

Too bad this isn't a Dynasty League... at least there would be a sense of purpose instead of this utter futility!

well with no possiblity of improving this team... I think I'm going to abandon it... There are already on 6 of 16 active.

If you're going to quit when things get ugly, why did you bother signing up?

Where do we go to sign up for a dynasty? Single season is cool and every but dynasty... c'mon.

Dynasty is very cool. It isn't free though. If you have the dough, go for it though. Check the SIM homepage or message board for details on getting a Dynasty team.

Don't get me wrong... I'm not a quitter, and I haven't quit when things got ugly... I think that is a bit unfair. I don't mind working to improve a last place team... but that is the point isn't it... how can you improve when there is NO ACTIVITY!?!

There is an incredible sense of futility when you can't improve your team because all the teams where you could make an equitable trade with are rudderless... There is no waiver wire activity and with the starting pitching, all I will be able to do is watch this team lose 3 of every 5 games, plus any bad outings by the 2 decent starters... I have not abandoned any of the teams where I know they will not win, but at least I can try to improve.

If there is an improvement I could suggest to this game it would be to find a some sort of solution to all the rudderless teams in single season. In the ten leagues, there isn't one with more than 7 active managers as of my last check (3:00 PM PST, 12/9/09). I think one only has 3 managers left. managers. Perhaps after the team is officially abandoned (2 weeks), ABE could take over and trim the deadweight players in the minors, make automated DL corrections - it would probably be going to far to ask for ABE to be able to evaluate basic player trades tho.

... and before calling me a jerk, how about all those who signed up for teams and never even set their lineups?!

... anyway, wanted to apologize for that first message. I guess it was just the frustration at seeing my pitchers all get selected in the last 16 rounds of the draft (except for 3). I was all doom and gloom about it, but I'm too much of a voyeur to actually let the team go rudderless.

Now I never called you a jerk, but the people who sign up and never play at all are jerks.

Seriously, I was mainly teasing you.

Apparently you didn't care for the trade offer I made. Pitching is clearly at a premium in this league.

I watch my team every day and update my line ups after every game. But, when a good team gets drafted for me I don't need to make a lot of trades. Trust me though, if anything goes south I'll be the first guy to make a move.

I think the hitter is worth more than what you offered. I know he will still improve a couple more times in the minors, even tho his stats are all pretty much blue right now. Hopefully my sticks will be lively enough to keep me in some games long enough to make the adjustments.

Have fun!
