Detroit Wins AL!!!

The Detroit Lionesses survived a very hard-fought series of slugfests to prevail over the Baltimore Scotians and take the AL Pennant in seven games in come-from-behind fashion. Game 7 was typical of the series with Detroit winning 12-8 in 10 innings scoring 3 in the ninth (2 unearned on a costly error by the Balitmore Center fielder) to tie it and then 4 in the top of the 10th. The bullpen has been a weak spot for Detroit all season, but the back end of the bullpen at least came up big when it had to. The two teams averaged almost 14 runs per game combined for the LCS. Baltimore has a heck of a team and were two outs away from winning this thing before the fateful error by the center fielder. Now - on to the World Series against the seriously scary Brooklyn Hazmats.Pages: 1
