Spreadsheet Question and Variable Development

April 08, 2009 at 02:08PM View BBCode

I download the Batters and Pitchers spreadsheets to track player stats and set my lineups. I have never figured out why there is a TG column

What is the purpose of tracking Total Games?

Now that the Beta League is working on Variable Development, I would like to see a column identifying which curve a player is on. In this way I can track over time how the player improves.

Once Variable Development is ported to the main site, the VD column should be deleted unless the curves are made public on the player cards.

TG is there because someone asked for it, and adding it was harmless. Made some calculations they were doing for their league easier.

I find the TG column an irritant because it is only included on the individual stats spreadsheets and not on the team stats spreadsheets.

This means I have to either delete the column from the individual stats spreadsheet or add a column on the team stats spreadsheet to fit my template.

I would suggest either deleting the column in the Individual stats spreadsheet or adding the column on the team stats spreadsheets so both spreadsheets are consistent.

Hi Casey,
Having the curve displayed is just a temporary measure. I don't think we will be showing this once we go live, so I'm not going to spend time adding it to a bunch of places.

How about adding TG (since it is harmless) to the Team Stats spreadsheet for consistency with the Individual Stats spreadsheet.
