Keith ranks 1st in saves all-time with 545. He only had 3 years where he blew more than 5 saves opportunities. Pretty impressive! Keith had 12 straight years with 30+ saves, and had 4 seasons with a sub 2.00 ERA. He was the 1951 N.L. Rookie of the Year and a 10-time All-star, and also won 2 Fireman of the year awards.

Mickey Makowski CF (Baltimore Crabs 1959-1971, Milwaukee Musketeers 1972)

Mickey Makowski spent 17 years in Baltimore and 1 year in Milwaukee before retiring this past off-season. Mickey leaves the Frank Robinson League with 3077 Hits (4th all-time), 1945 Runs (2nd all-time), 568 SBs (3rd all-time) and a career Batting Average of .301 (26th all-time).

Mickey was AL Rookie of the Year in 1955, was voted to the All-Star Team 8 times and won back-to-back MVPs in 1964 and 1965.

Johnnie Unglaub 2B (Baltimore Carbs 1953-67, St. Louis Browns 1968-71)

Johnnie burst onto the scene with a fantastic rookie year in 1953 - his line of .288 AVG / .347 OBP / .815 OPS with 21 HR, 96 R and 77 RBI garnered him an All-Star appearance as a rookie. Johnnie continued to put up consistently good stats for some awful Baltimore teams throughout the rest of the 1950s - but his 4 year run from 1963 thru 1966 cemented his status as one of his generation's best players. From '63 thru '66, Johnnie averaged .329 with 24 HRs, 114 Rs, 98 RBI and 26 SBs and was voted to the All-Star team each year (twice as a starter). He was also Top-5 in the MVP vote in three of those four years.

Johnnie finished his career in Baltimore with one final All-Star appearance in 1967 as a Crab, before moving on to St Louis for 4 more years (1968 - 1971, with an appearance in the NLCS all 4 years).

Johnnie finished his career with 2611 Hits (currently 19th all-time), 1467 Runs (20th all-time), 1358 RBI (23rd all-time) and 323 HRs (38th all-time). Ultimately, Johnnie may fall just short of what it takes to be a Hall of Famer - but his accomplishments certainly deserved a glowing review written by an admittedly partisan observer.
