After losing the first two games to Millwaukee the Boston Red Sox rallied and won the next four games to defeat Millwaukee in six games and capture the World Series Ring. Boston's pitching held the National League MVP,Bill Johnson,to only 5 hits in 24 at bats or just .208 with no home runs and no RBI in the 6 games (in the regular season he hit .360 with 24 home runs and 57 RBI)Boston's pitching also held the entire Millwaukee team to just 13 runs in the 6 game or an average of just 2.16 runs per game (during the regular season Millwaukee drove in an average of 4.4 runs per game)The World Series MVP is pitcher Rebel Marshall (the A.L. Cy Young) who pitched 16 innings in the World Series giving up only 2 runs (a 1.25 ERA) and in the entire postseason (including the World Series) he pitched 24 innings giving up only 5 runs (a 2.08 ERA)Pages: 1
