Please vote for any of the following Canidates:
1.Issac Sanford 3B Detriot Wheels 1960 to 1970 and Chicago Wiseguys 1970-1974. A 9 Time All Star with 445 career homruns which is 15 on the all time list. Issac is 11 in all time RBI's at 1545. Sanford has 4 ws rings in 5 apperances and was the key power hitter behind Detroits championship run from 1967-71
2. Bill Davis C Detroit Wheels and 1957-70 and Montrial Dreadnaughts 1970-1973. 6 time all star. 4 WS rings.
3. Carl Crowell SS 1956-1973 Cincinnati Storm
Crowell was instrumental in the Storm's second reign of terror in the FRL, in which they won a league record 6 consecutive Division Titles and won 90 or more games 9 straight seasons. Crowell is one of the few members of the 3,000 hits club with 3,047 (7th all time), and is the all-time stole base king with 629. He also had 347 home runs showcasing the 5-tool potential the Storm saw when they drafted him 20th overall back in 1953. He also scored 1,858 runs(4th all time), won 2 MVP's, and was named to 11 All-Star teams.
Last but certainly not least, he played his ENTIRE career as a Storm, an accomplishment very few FRL players can boast.
4. Derrick Cooper, CF (1956-1974) Kansas City Knockers (1956&7) Brooklyn What For (1958-1965) Montreal Dreadnaughts (1966) Washington Crooks (1966-1973 and Los Angeles Anarchy 1974 (was also on the Huston roster in 1974 but did not play for Huston)
Derrick won Rookie of the year in the AL his first season with Kansas City, and went on to have one of the greatest careers in the FRL. His careers numbers are impressive. He ranks 3rd in Home Runs (522). 3rd in Doubles (541). 3rd in Hits (3,259). 1st in RBI (1,976). 5th in Runs Scored (1,834), & 6th in Triples(138). Derrick even ranks 15th all-time in steals (354), and was a great defensive CF, compiling a +/- rating of +101, showing his 5-tool ability. One note: Derrick batted 7th his last few years in Brooklyn. His career numbers could have been even more impressive. He was an All-star 10 times, and won 4 straight MVP awards from 1966-1969. Derrick played in the post-season 11 years, playing in 4 World Series, 3 of which were with Brooklyn, and winning the championship in his only W.S. appearance with the Washington Crooks.
5. John Child RP, Chicago Wiseguys, 1960 through 1974.
Child was one of the best closers in the league for eleven seasons, winning four closer of the year awards. He lead the league in saves four times during that stretch and was the backbone of the Wiseguys championship bullpen. He retired three saves short of 500.
6. Gale Garbowski RP, Baltimore Crabs 1956-1967, St. Louis Browns. 1968-1973 and Kansas City cowboys 1974
Garbowski had a really unique career. In his first 8 seasons, he worked exclusively out of the bullpen and enjoyed a great deal of success. He was an All-Star 5 out of those 8 seasons and won the Fireman Award twice - in 1961 and 1963 (leading the majors in saves both years). Garbowski's 1961 season was phenomenal - 50 saves, 0 blown saves, 2-1 record, 0.84 WHIP and a 0.78 ERA. He gave up 5 runs the entire season. (In hindsight, he should have pitched much more than he did!)
Beginning in 1964, Garbowski began to transition into the starting rotation. By 1966 he was a full-time starter and in 1967 he was chosen as the starting pitcher in the All-Star Game (with a season stat line of 21-5, 1.03 WHIP and 2.69 ERA).
Garbowski was dealt to St Louis before the 1968 season, where he continued to have success as a starter. He led the majors in WHIP in 1968 and in Wins (with 23) in 1970 (when he was voted to the All-Star team as a starter for the second time).
Garbowski finished his career with 188 Wins, 314 Saves, 8 All-Star appearances (6 as a reliever and 2 as a starter) and 2 Fireman Awards. He retired after winning his second WS ring last year (unfortunately, neither ring was won in Baltimore).
7. Joe Walling OF Boston Rounders (1968-1974)
Joe Walling 3320 hits, 487 home runs, 438 steals, .321 career batting average, 2005 runs, 1534 RBI's, two rings and a nine time all star...
(Exception allowed for a late nomination for Joe. Thindad)
8. Rusty Hernon SP Boston Rounders (1957-1972)
Rusty Hernon 253 wins, 2894 strikeouts, 2 rings and 5 time all star...
(Exception allowed for a late nomination for Rusty - Thindad)
Edit: I'm a little late with my nominations, but I'm hoping we can push these through...
