World Series

July 26, 2009 at 11:52PM View BBCode

Congratulations to the Wheels and Wiseguys. Both teams came back from 3-2 deficits to advance to the series.

I was hoping Frank Devine could pitch against his former team, the Crabs, but Milwaukee couldn't beat the youngster Bishop in two tries, although they had hit him hard most of the season, nor could they beat Don Anderson, who they had not solved all year long.

It should be a good series, with youth(Det) squaring off vs. experience(Wiseguys). Good luck boys!

Thanks. I wasn't even supposed to be IN the post-season this time. My old dudes kept coming through and Bishop was a beast in the LCS. Congrats to Milwaukee for a great season... you'll be back again. Good luck to Detroit as they try to complete the worst to first run.

Congrats to both teams, and to the other playoff teams as well. Should be a great series between Detroit and Chicago. To be honest, I doubted Chicago's ability to make it this far (due to their age) but nobody else from the NL stepped up this year, and now I find myself wearing a Wiseguys cap! Bring it home for the NL!

Congrats to the Wiseguys! Your team finally won it. Good to see Mora, Mars, Lombardo & your other vets get a ring.

Congrats to the Wheels as well, worst to first is still sweet. Plus you'll be back, even though it won't be easy with those other young teams in the AL getting better every year.

Yes congraulations to the Wise guys. A very nice series.

Yes the AL was very competitive this season. 4 or 5 teams could have made the playoffs with just a little luck. The Wheels got their share of luck. Next season could be even tighter.

Phew. Wasn't able to log in until well past midnight. A hard day, but a sweet little reward at the end. Thanks for the kind words, guys. I'd be lying if I didn't say that I really wanted this one. Nice reward for the Wise (Old) Guys. Congrats to Detroit for a great season... I'm they'll be back. Great squad.
