I thought there was logic in place to not pull a pitcher during a no-hitter and possibly even a shutout. If there isn't, it's something we should incorporate. If there is, something's not working, because Peterson was pulled after 6 despite not giving up a hit. I think I remember seeing from a previous post that your closer (if available) will be put in whenever it is a save situation. ABE may have interpreted it as so here, but that seems unlikely and it is more likely that it was a bug. I am 99.9% sure that it applies to shutouts, but don't know about no-hitters.October 24, 2002 at 09:06PM View BBCode
Without being able to see pitch counts you just never know though do you. 1-0 game, pitcher leading off the 7th, he could have been exhausted. Or had a blister. Or a hot date even! Who knows!October 24, 2002 at 10:12PM View BBCode
He also could have been pulled in favor of a pinch hitter to hopefully help get an insurance run.October 24, 2002 at 10:28PM View BBCode
I think what Bob is saying is that he thought there was logic that said, "do not pull a guy if he's pitching a no-hitter no matter what".October 25, 2002 at 01:53AM View BBCode
That's just it -- in real life the manager would almost never pull a guy who had a no-hitter going, or pinch hit for a guy who had a chance at 3 HR or the cycle. I thought Tyson had implemented logic to achieve this -- if he has it isn't working and if he hasn't it is something to consider to add a little bit to the realism.October 25, 2002 at 01:56AM View BBCode
You never know now do you? These guys might just have lives of their own!October 25, 2002 at 11:31PM View BBCode
I thought I had that logic in there. Maybe he just got bored and went home or something.Pages: 1
