If it didn't exist in the 50's (and we want to stay realistic) that is something that I wouldn't mind seeing added, when the year interleague play really began comes around.

I don't know if this existed in the 50's, but I would like to get a shot to play some teams from the oppisite division now and then.If it didn't exist in the 50's (and we want to stay realistic) that is something that I wouldn't mind seeing added, when the year interleague play really began comes around.

I was wondering about that too, it would make things more interesting. I think it would probably be a lot of work though.

I think that waiting 'til the 90s is a long time to wait for interleague play, though I wouldn't mind it myself.

As for IL play in this game...no way no how...stick to the old-school...I don't even like having a 5th starter..we should have 9 man staffs, 4 starters max.

as far as the pitching goes, that would require a drastic overhaul. you would need to have starter/reliever catagory and, most importantly, games would have to be played on a different timeframe. there would have to be doubleheaders, i love doubleheaders, and there would need to be days between series to duplicate travel time. also, those does would need to give players the chance to rest. occasional rainouts wouldn't hurt either. there were certainly teams who lived and died by the rainout as they only had 2 effective starters.

You know, I just realized that that was an excellent point. About "not having il play really makes the ws more exciting. you just don't know for sure how good the other team is". This definately encourages rooting for your league in the WS, because you know that your league is the hardest. Also, another thing that would be nice to add is an All-Star Game. This would be another sort of "bragging rights" thing between the leagues.Pages: 1
