What we are talking about here is a game with no objective, zero difficulty, no head to head competition, a huge reliance upon mindless clicking, and an option to pay real honest to god money so as to increase your skill at said mindless clicking game.

because it is one thing for people to be sadly wasting their life away on a game that isnt even enjoyable because they are so incredibly slothful that they are too lazy to put effort into a real game, but it is a whole other thing for people to believe that this game is the 2nd best game on the internet.What we are talking about here is a game with no objective, zero difficulty, no head to head competition, a huge reliance upon mindless clicking, and an option to pay real honest to god money so as to increase your skill at said mindless clicking game.

So, if I may interpret what you're trying to say, you don't like Farmville because (in your mind) it is the sort of thing that makes people think that those who play as many video games as you do are fucking weird.

I mean, I dont think Farmville is a game that increases someone's enjoyment of life, its just "something to waste time". Wasting time is a bad thing, if you waste less time, you enjoy life more. I play video games because I enjoy them. I post on these forums to waste time. I probably shouldnt post on these forums so much. Id probably get my work done faster, and would be able to go home faster and do things I enjoy more. But procrastination is my downfall, and despite knowing that I would enjoy life better if I didnt waste my time, I still sit here and waste it.
And that's what farmville is like. Except minus the interpersonal relationships.

That's the funniest thing I've read today. What makes it even more hilarious, is it was directed at happy, who probably didn't get it.
happy. Until last week, I played one game on the net, SimDynasty. F-ville IS a time waster. I spend my entire day at a desk, in front of the computer. While doing that, I make a half million phone calls. I multi task as much as possible with work stuff, but when I'm on the phone, and have nothing else to do, I look at SimD and now F-ville. My post was pure sarcasm. F-ville is mindless, which is great for killing time while working. Kind of like you posting banal clatter on message boards.

Say what you want about the game, I have a relative out in Utah who has highly advanced MS, he spends alot of time playing Farmville. Yeah, it may be kind of mindless, but, it gives him a sense of accomplishment, being that he can't even do the simplest tasks (i.e. wiping oneself), so, I felt the need to defend it.

Games, of any sort, have to qualities they need to maintain to be "good":1) Enjoyable by the player.
2) Consume an acceptable amount of time.

I joined f-book 6 months ago after my 13 year old nephew (he's in a wheelchair and lives in wisconsin) sent me an email inviting me. He then persuaded me to join several silly assed games because he needed more neighbors.
Now, I look forward to the 20-30 minutes or so per week chatting with him. It's simply a diversion, but it keeps me coming back everyday.
But I'm sure happy is correct. Being a 47th level warlock with the screen name Curmudgeon Dungeon while raping and pillaging 13 year old Eric Cartman types and winning awesome battles vs computer geeks who are frying their brains rather than studying or doing housework or chasing girls or playing sports is way more awesome than F-ville.

I prefer cafe world.
