Spring has sprung!!!

March 04, 2004 at 05:24AM View BBCode

I sleep during the day, but today I couldn't sleep, so I managed to catch a few innings of the Dodgers-Mets game on ESPN. That's right--spring training baseball baby! And for all the complaints and controversies, it was still refreshing to see a bat and ball on my TV again. However much these juice-ball players, idiotic owners, and overzealous media may want to ruin the game, THE GAME is still beautiful...God bless spring and God bless America, it's baseball time!

(Another game tomarrow on ESPN at 2 PM, just so you know) ;)

i found it funny that LA scored 13 runs. it shows either they have improved offensively, or the mets pitching sucks. probably the latter. but i know that there were a lot of young guys in their trying to make the team that probably wont be pitching for the mets this season.

Yeah...spring training scores are pretty meaningless. The Orioles rock in spring training every year, and then suck. Still must've been refreshing for Dodgers fans.

yea i remember the yanks were like 9-10 last spring training. but it is cool to finally see the game again and see the young guys. that loney kid (i think loney is his name) is really exciting. hes only 19 and had a great game. yea its only spring training but its cool to see the young guys that u may see sometime in the near future. thats the one thing u dont really get with the yankees. the only guys i think that will be on the team sometime soon from the farm system are erick almonte (like they need another ss) and that catching prospect who is supposed to be their best. i have to admit i cant wait to see the yanks play the redsox on sunday, even though it is only spring training.

It is warm here finally. that is better than spring training. going outside, and not freezing.

I couldn't catch the Dodger game yesterday but I caught the end of the Cub's/Giant's game today, and it was great.

Dodgers are 2-0, have scored 20 runs, and Loney is 5-5 with 5 RBI. Too bad he is 19 and won't make the major league roster. I am happy, and I hope this is a sign of things to come.:D I remember last year the royals were unbeatable in spring training and the experts said it was luck, then they won 17(?) straight games to start the season

for all of u who are just counting the days until u see arod play in a spring training game against boston (i know i was) stop counting, he isnt makin the trip. torre doesnt want him to get exposed to all that media attention so quickly and in such a meaningless game. its great to see baseball back, but right now i have a one track basketball mind.

I don't know about anybody else, but in the next emanation, basketball shall die and perish with all the other inferior sports and baseball shall rise to stand alone. I promise you that. Wal Mart told me so. :)

"next emanation" is a Star Trek: Voyager reference, if you don't know.

High School Basketball, the best??

Maybe not...

its alot better than pro ball. sure the players arent as good, but they try harder and arent in it for the money. my high school team is 26-0 and the way they get up for a game is the thought of winning (especially a state title) and hearing the cheers from the crowd, not the millions that they will be paid.

Dodgers are now 3-0, yea!!!! Jolbert Cabrera-6 AB, 4 HR. If only he could do that during the regular season.... Is he leading the league in exhibition HRs?

I'll tell you...I read those first couple boxscores for the Orioles and it was nice seeing Tejada, Lopez, and Palmerio in the lineup. Tejada and Lopez will suck, and Palmerio will spend half the year on the DL. But at least for a few games we should have an offense this year.

Jerry Hairston broke a finger and is out for a month, by the way. Advantage Brian Roberts.

I hope Shawn Green returns to form this year. That is all I have to say.

Ok, maybe more. Screw the Astros starting rotation... Screw the Braves (no fan here... bro loves them however) Screw the steroidites under the microscope... Kill 'em all, and play ball. :P

wow, im gonna run out of money when i go and get all my jerseys. Im gonna get a LaVar Arrington jersey in a couple of days, and a Springs jersey when they come out (the redskins store said march 15-april 15 some time) and a Miguel Tejada jersey. With my luck they will all be traded by the time the season starts.
