Auto Promote

April 27, 2010 at 03:44PM View BBCode

Is there anyway ABE can take the best player in the minors to auto-promote instead of 17/18 yr olds?

I got an idiot in a league who does nothing with his team however ABE seems to auto promote his 17/18 yr olds instead of his 22 yr olds who are ML ready

I know I know he can change it when he signs on however this guy logs in 2 times a month(3/31-4/27) and when he does he does 0 with his team.

The reason that ABE takes the younger players first has to do with option years and stuff. I agree that it would be nice for auto-promote to look for best available guys first, rather than puching up the youngest people.

Ya its not a big deal if person changes it after a day or 2,the problem is when the person comes on every 2 weeks which means about 40 games have went by

Just would be nicer to see a B+ 24 yr old promoted then a C 17 yr old

if we were to make the default for ABE to promote the most-skilled overall player in the minors who has options remaining, would that suffice? and is that terribly difficult to code?

I always hope the 17 yr old gets hurt right away, then another, then another.

Ruining all of them by completely obliterating the most critical development season any player has.

And they suck, too, so more fun for my team.

Could it be an option that the owner can weight option years vs. talent for auto-promote (the default being 50/50)?

i don't see why we'd bother. any owner active enough to set that pref would presumably not get hit with the autopromote anyway.

or you could have the league basically vote him out due to inactivity, right?

Technically, as long as the guy checks in according to the site standards, you can't legally. I had one guy who would check in every 14 days. Did this over a two month period (four plus seasons for us). I would have liked to have forced him out but couldn't.
