Sure people could throw the games, although this could be averted for the most part by not letting you bet on your own games and limiting the number of DD that could be bet (D$100 sounds about right), but we're just talking DD here. If someone abuses the system to win too much, we can address the issue then, and I say we because I am happy to be a consultant on this one.

Make some sort of algorithm that looks at pitcher rating, team record and actual stats (only because manager prefs affect this to a degree), and come up with a Vegas style line for each game. People can take their DD to bet on the game.
