League Rules and Settings

May 18, 2010 at 06:13PM View BBCode

Schedule: 12 games per day with no pause days in between seasons

Amateur Draft: The draft pool will appear on the evening after August 1. Draft pick trading will be allowed for 3 seasons in advance only

Trade Deadline: September 1st. You can still trade after this date, but any players received after September 1, will NOT be eligible for the playoffs.

Trading Rules: There are no "renting" of players.

Catcher Restrictions: You must carry two C's on the major league roster at all times and one of them MUST be playing. A Catcher is considered a catcher if he is at least 80% proficient at C.

Playoff Rosters: You can change your roster in between series', but not during. Playoff rosters are frozen at the start of each series.

Waiver Wire:
Players will remain on the waiver wire for 13 sim days.

Name Changes: Changing player names is NOT permitted.

Team Names: MLB team names are only permitted. Historic MLB team names are equally acceptable. Team names can only be changed if you're taking over an abandoned team.

Inactivity Rule: 2 weeks. If you do not check the standings or your team for a period of two weeks without notifying me or the rest of the league, I will take over your team until a replacement owner is found. There is no leeway on this rule whatsoever.

Trade Reversals: The DPL will use the sitewide trade protest process. If you see a trade you don't like, don't post about it here. You should create a private message in Support.

Rule Changes: Follow standardized guidelines on changing rules in private leagues as set forth by Tyson here: http://www.simdynasty.com/oldforum-viewthread.jsp?tid=36710

Development System: Variable Development System with default percentages.

Minor League CP System 3:
"This system will have 6 ICs per game, and there are no CPs individually assigned. All players will have an equal chance of being selected for an IC. For a 15-man minor league squad, each player will get roughly 64 ICs per season. In other words, all prospects are developed as fully as possible. You may experience missed ICs if you have less than 15 eligible players in the minor leagues"

Stadiums:
Stadiums can be built every 5 seasons, fences and other adjustments can be made every season.

Retirement System: 2

Injury System: 3

Initial Draft talent pool will be cloned from an existing, mature league that uses Variable Development and System 3 minor leagues.

One other item....

Skills will be displayed as numbers 1-100, not letters.

Now you tell me. Ouch, just joined and I hate the non-letters. Oh well, guess I'll have to muscle through it. Expect all the other guys will have a leg up on me on this one. :D Too much brain power required for numbers!

Nah, I really wanted an Angels squad. So even if I suck for a while, it'll be worth it. Plus I really like starting in 1950, so I'll manage with the numbers. Thanks Tyson.

Yes you can, check out my post titled "Letter to Number Conversion Chart". I give a bit of detail on where to find the setting.

What I do is have it set for show numbers on the players card. That way when I am looking at it I can see it in letters on my roster but if I want to know how far he is from the next letter grade I check on his player card.

Are there any anti tanking provisions?

Given that we are using minor league CP system 3 there actually is a site wide anti-tanking policy that applies. Please see the below passage and link as the anti-tanking aspects will apply to our league.

Tanking in System 3/4 Speed Leagues
Owners in Speed leagues that use system 3 or 4 minor league improvements must either 1) Put their team in a position to win the most games or 2) Put their team in a position to best develop major league players. It is unacceptable to develop your team only in the minors and play an entire major league roster of scrubs. If you see a team in your league that does not meet these criteria, please post a private note in Support. We then may contact the owner in question for an explanation of why he is playing the players he is playing and come to a decision.

Gee. It would be nice to see a new league with 6 to 9 games per day. I would join and try to redeem my draft mistakes in the new Albert Pujols league. 12 and 15 games a day is a bit much for me
