Amateur Draft - Max P's and OF's total

I came up with this looking at my upcoming draft. I have 2 1st round picks. I'd like to take 1 pitcher regardless of whether it's a SP or RP and I'd like to take 1 OF, regardless of outfield position. With multiple options for both I could end up with 2 OF's of different positions or 2 pitchers, 1 SP and 1 RP. It seems like it would be a fairly easy fix to have a maximum number of P's and a maximum number of OF's for the draft.Murph

You can already do this, but to be entirely honest, it will hurt your team in the long run. You should always take the best available player, with no regard for position, and then move them around later. The only possible exception to this rule is to boost natural catchers a little bit higher than other position players, but not much. In other words, don't draft by positional need, it usually ends up hurting, not helping, your team.

I see where I can limit each individual position, but not where I can limit Pitchers or OF's collectively. Agreed that best player available is mostly the best way to go. I just don't want to randomly end up with 5 more OF's.Pages: 1
