Here is some advice....if you are not sure what settings to use for your expansion draft the posts that I have made recently concerning settings for draft picks would prob give you an idea of what stats are important in evaluateing players and making your own choices for setttings.
In the end it is your choice. Things to remember...Righty handed pitchers are slightly better than left handed..Control is of more value than velocity..
For hitters power is much more important than contact...
C+ /Contact & A+ / power are much much better than A+ /contact and C+ / power..
Arm is the most important defensive stat.
Speed is important both to get the extra base and steals but also to avoid the double plays...
Health is of importance also a team filled with D health will have a ton of injuries and young players that are trying to develop under 25 yrs old will be limited in their development with D health they might only be able to play in 100 games a season wheras a player with A+ health can do 162 games a season which leads to more improvement chances....
Last and very important......This league is already very weak in the Pitching department so be very greedy when it comes to good SP/RP's done give them up in trade unless you are getting a hell of a deal. at this point in the Jimmy Wynn League I would say a B+ endurance B+ Velocity B+ Control pitcher could win 20 games a season. guys that are All "A's" are few and far between....So covet them..
Hitting in this league is improving rapidly...once again covet the star hitters they are few and far between... Do not expect that by trading a Star hitter or Pitcher for someone elses 5 draft picks next season that you are doing really well....The talent in most drafts is usually gone by round 2. In addition STAR quality players are at the most 2 per draft...so the odds of getting you star replaced is minimal unless you get the #1 pick in the draft which would have to come from the last place team...Be very wary of trading with the top teams.....OUR draft picks are late in draft rounds and dont carry the value of lower ranked teams....
Ok NUff said.....Please enjoy the Jimmy Wynn League.....and stay active in the message board....:spin::spin::spin:

PapHerbs, good advice for the new (and current) GMs....
BTW, the Mahalo greeting ...Is that an indication that you are sitting on Maui watching the sunsets and sunrises with Coronas stacked next to your lounge chair ?
Isn't baseball managing the sixth most popular sport in Maui ? After, girl watching, whale watching, surf watching, sunbathing, and opening the next Corona ?
