Rookie Jon Jay has impressed in his first 48 games, hitting .396 and slugging .604, evidently convincing the club that he is ready for a bigger role in the short term. The deal might also open up some playing time for rookie Allen Craig, who is hitting well at Triple-A Memphis
Can Jay and Craig make up for Ludwick?
If so, Westbrook is an upgrade over Soup!

As far as Westbrook goes, he is an insurance policy. I am hoping to God that they don't abuse Garcia and blow out his arm. And with Lohse coming back, it will be time for Suppan to go.
Stav should be cut as soon as Craig gets here. He is a AAAA player and should not be taking bats away from anyone. As soon as Greene gets well, cut Miles. Bring Mather up.
