SP Ralph Kelso, CIN 1973-1985, DET 1986-1988
Kelso is one of those pitchers that only comes along once in a generation. From his high octane fastball to the incredible stamina he possessed, he put the Storm on his back and carried them for many years. Known for his incredible rivalry with Cheesesteaks ace Hub Macfarlane in which the two battled several times a season for over a decade, Kelso is among the all-time leaders in wins (252), complete games (123), shutouts (38), innings pitched (3686), and strikeouts (2826). Owning a cy young award and having been nominated to eight all-star teams, he also made three appearances in the world series and has one ring to his name.
I know Joseph will be nominating Hub shortly, and these two certainly deserve it. These two fueled our rivalry (which didn't need any help to be fair ;) ) and provided us with countless legendary pitchers duels, both during the season and in the playoffs.

Philly nominates 2 players from our original dynasty...
1. Hub MacFarlane- Hub was special. He burst onto the scene in 1976, winning Rookie of the Year honors with a 3.33 ERA, 14 wins and a league-leading 19 complete games. He went on to throw 175 complete games in his career, an all-time record. The workhorse led the league in innings 9 times. In his career he compiled 224 wins, including seven 20-win seasons, pitched to the tune of a 3.29 ERA, made 9 all-star teams and won two Cy Young awards. Just imagine the numbers he could have put up if he had came into the league before he was 25.
2. Mel Perez- 8-time all-star Mel Perez had a great career. Always undervalued, he was a .301 career hitter who amassed over 2500 hits and won an MVP award. The on-base machine (.376 OBP) also hit 254 homers, drove in 1107 runs and stole over 450 bases. He's the Jeter-type talent. He made 6 playoff teams, including 3 championship teams in Philly. He was a big contributor on the 1985 team, hitting .389 and stealing 4 bases in the World Series.
