All Star Break

October 02, 2010 at 05:50AM View BBCode

It would be nice if between games 81 & 82 (or 82 &83) we had a 4 or 5 game break. That would give us a chance to reset the SP and RP.

The break could still happen over night so it doesn't change game play but that we could start the 2nd half of the season with a rested SP staff.

Just a thought!

Personally I wouldn't want a 4 or 5 game break. One maybe.

I think this might be a good idea... In real life, guys get an extra 3 or 4 days to help heal during the all star break in the case of an injury. This would speed up injured guys getting back on your roster. Unless there is something that I'm not thinking of, this isn't bad IMO.

However, in real life certain guys play in the all star game and don't get rest. But that's another post.

I think this should be used in conjunction with a real All Star game.

Would the league that won get home field advantage in the world series?

Would we also throw the home run hitting contest, rookie, and old-timers game in this, "break"?

what are the rookie and old timers games? the rookie game is an NBA All Star weekend thing, and the old timers game is a Yankees thing, as far as i know MLB All Star break doesnt include these kinds of things

I am a big Yankees fan and the old timers game isnt just yankees and the rookie game is actually called the futures game.

The futures game is a yankees thing as far as I know and the rookie game is an nba game

I know, there was a bit of sarcasm there, but be careful, I bet it could be done. A futures game with our minor leaguers, the Hall of Fame game at Cooperstown with our retired players. The only thing missing would be the celebrity pro-am softball game.

I'm a big Yankees fan too, and I know there are a few other teams like the Dodgers that have an old-timers game, but nobody cares about them, i meant the Yankees Old-Timers game is the only one that matters. Can't believe the red sox tried to sign mariano! what were they thinking
