Has there been any discussion about the difficulty of adding a feature to let the pitcher stay in the game, bunt, and return to the mound?
Something like:
In/after the (7th/8th/9th inning) if less than two outs and the (tying/winning run) on first, (allow the pitcher to bunt/pinch hit for the pitcher.)

I've seen a number of times where in late innings the #8 hitter gets on base and the pitcher is pinch hit for in an obvious bunt situation.Has there been any discussion about the difficulty of adding a feature to let the pitcher stay in the game, bunt, and return to the mound?
Something like:
