Converting Existing Private/Speed Leagues to use Salary/Free Agency System

I've been noodling over how this would work today and think I have a mostly fair way to do this.
Players typically become free agents when they reach OS 29. We would take all players in the league that are 29+ years old and put them into the Free Agency pool. Teams would bid on these players over the course of 7 real time days, with a certain percentage of players signing each day.
This is pretty much how new salary leagues start.
There would be one important difference. During this time, teams would get a special bonus when bidding on their own players. This would make it more likely that a team could keep its nucleus together. In addition, prestige would be ignored for the first bidding period.
Are there any thoughts on this process?
If there is a league interested in making this conversion, talk it over with your league and then contact me via support. I'd like to start with one league conversion, let it run for a couple months, then open it up to other leagues. Keep in mind that salary leagues need to use the subscription model for pricing, and that these leagues cost a bit more than other leagues (they are $2-$3 more per month).
