2 Min Offense

I was thinking of the 2-min offense as the "hurry up" offense at the end of the half/game. This would involve primarily passing the ball in order to get into scoring range without eating up clock.

Now, while experimenting with the "Pass Attack 1" base offense option, which is basically a form of "hurry-up" throughout the game, I'm wondering if players might use the "2-min" as all-running, to kill the clock and eat opponents' timeouts.

The logic, such as it is, being that the all-out scoring attempts through the air would put points on the board, while the hopefully-winning team (yours) is more interested in running out the clock.

Then again, if you're behind, you're screwed of course in the final minutes of the game. UNLESS, you variate the "2 min" with an all-passing option you can switch to in the 4th quarter. If it is a tight game going into the final quarter.

This means keeping tabs between the 3rd and 4th quarter. But are such thoughts viable?

back in the day, when I had an earlier team and was the first to figure out that screens worked really well, I did that for my two minute offense. It worked fine.
