the losing continues in philadelphia, but finally there appears to be some light at the end of the tunnel. some big time prospects in the minors, and talented young players in the big leagues. dykstra and pladson can not both man centerfield in 1955, but though dykstra could be a superstar pladson is one of the few domiNATEors with any ability to hit with power. See and bailor though having disapointing seasons seem to be tough characters to play your way into the lineup against. Ed Eastwick another extra outfielder from a year ago has made a succesful switch to second base, and though no one will confuse him for a gold glover he has adequately handled his time in the infield. there isnt an outfielder who really fits better at another position, and the domiNATEors have talent at all their positions in the bigs now. the only way to play your way into this lineup is to out play someone else. pending a trade that leaves one of these talented outfielders wasting away on the bench in 1955.April 16, 2004 at 04:36PM View BBCode

the 54 domiNATEors may finally have turned the corner to respectability. the pitching is starting to look like it actually can handle the major league level, and the offense though severely limited in the power department is adequate if not average. the team is still as young as any in the jwl, and next season promises to be even younger as some of the veteran bench players retire, and the likes of glen fields and nails dykstra make their way to major league jobs. there are three minor leaguers that will probably at least start next season in the minors who the domiNATEors feel could be all star type players in the future. jeff burrell is already proving that he can be effective at the next level and morgan redus and marty scoffic are young and talented. what excites the domiNATEors the most about these two is that they have power potential something lacking on the major leauge squad. neither is to hindered by the incumbent at their postion, and redus compares favoribly defensively already to the other options at short. scoffic though at best an average defensive player is being groomed to replace travis chapman who though given three solid years to develop into at least someone who is not a liability at the plate has yet to produce. he strikes out, and has very little power. chapman however is as good as you can get with the glove, but though he is extremely fast scoffic is faster. as a matter of fact silvo prim and scoffic are both compared to see and eastwick in the speed department, and that in itself will give both a good chance at being in the big leagues someday.Pages: 1
