Simfootball is failing in its present form

THis is going to be my 4th team & I am going to continue playing because I love the concept of SimFootball.
However, in its present form, it is failing to attract owners due to the inability of the coach to have any meaningful effect on the game. After drafting and choosing a coaching strategy, there isn't much to do but watch helplessly what your team does for the rest of the season.
I propose a radical change in which the entire season is actually just one quarter long. 15 minutes(900 secs.) Every day would be just one play(about 45secs.). Years ago, a boardgame named "Scrimmage" tried this with some success. Each day you would be able to react to your opponent's play by changing your off. or def. choice for the next down. This would create the excitement of personal input so lacking now.
I realize that this would entail a great effort, but if the present model continues to fail, this might be the answer.
I would appreciate any feedback from SimD or the players on this.

There will be a thing called "advanced" preferences. You will basically be able to say "With a score margin between A and B, in the 1/2/3/4 quarter, on the 1/2/3/4 down, with X yards to go from the Y yard line, do Z play."
I don't know when that will be in place, but when it is, you will see what you are looking for. Meanwhile, try taking advantage of the time and figuring out how to scout player ratings to project performance. That's what I'm still working on!
