At the 130-game mark, a four way tie for first with Florida 2 games, and Brooklyn and St. Louis only 4 games out. Now, that's a pennant race.

That's not just a pennant race- that's a charicature of a pennant race. That's how pennant races happen on cartoons.

Meanwhile, 98 wins may not get you in to the AL playoffs.

It is the battle of the averages, and no team has yet to step up and take control. Should be an interesting stretch run.

my philly team on paper should be leading.
the top 4 starters are as good as any and the closer is a stud and the lineup is still very good

i thought the acquisition of knauss would give us the pennant one last season

however, we may be on our last gasp and we're leaking oil
the stalkers were due for a poor season.

with the loss of pete alexander and george durocher, i needed mike casanova to be an ace and he's been absolute garbage the 2nd half of the season

With 6 games to go, seven teams in contention! Three way tie for first, two way tie for second (2 games back), two way tie for third (3 games back)

wow, bases loaded bottom of the 9th with 1 out and i cant get a run home

then my reliever blows up in the 10th; typical game for my team this season.
that could be the dagger on this season

Philadephia and Milwaukee, playing the final series of the season against each other, started the series tied for the second playoff spot! But hey, no pressure!
