dam injuries

October 10, 2011 at 03:42PM View BBCode

it always seems to happen during the stretch run to get into the playoffs. Now I have just lost one of my better SP' s who was
12 - 6 with an ERA of 3.57, not great numbers but very reliable especially for a 4th spot starter.
Oh yeah he is gone for the season too ( 54 days injured) so unless I get another 4th spot SP the possible championship does not look good either. Which of course now I can't because it is past the trade deadline.

Great now lost my 2nd good SP for the season.
Well Cleveland it looks like ABE is handing you the last playoff spot in the A.L. on a silver platter. You might want to thank ABE.

Doesn't matter with it being past the trade deadline when this happened I have had to take 2 guys from my bullpen and move them to starting and then I had to pick up 2 RP's from waivers to fill in my bullpen because all of my minor leaguers have not reached a high enough skill level for the majors. So now if I do make the playoffs we will not have a pitching staff because the 2 on waivers I picked up we will not be able to use in the playoffs. Then I will have to bring up 2 minor leaguers who are not ready and the 2 RP's I moved to SP's will not do good in the playoffs so my pitching is trashed.

Abe has given some significant injuries to Cleveland as well, just earlier in the year. Both wild card races are looking like fun these last few games, good luck to all.

I do not doubt that Cleveland has suffered significant injuries.

My 2 SP's are knocked out for not only what is left in the season but out of the playoffs as well so they are gone for the year and this happened right at the trade deadline making it impossible for me to even trade or pick someone up from waivers to replace them (would not be able to use such players in the playoffs).
