New Pinch Hitter Stuff

The logic for having a suitable defensive replacement wasn't in place for the games this morning. I forgot to copy the new files over. For future games, it should be in place.

I had a game earlier where a SS pinch hit for a 2B and was then replaced in the field by another 2B. Should that SS be able to play 2B or will he always be replaced by the position specific player?

When you say "suitable", does that mean that the replacement must be position specific? As it stands now, he would always be replaced by the 2B on the bench.

Obviously Chicago is trying to play the young kids. And when the 7th inning rolled around and the game was close, some better veterans were brought in (despite the starting pitcher still being in the game).
I would make a rule that says only allow pinch hitters when the starting pitcher is no longer in the game. BUT that would prevent this obvious pinch hitting scenario. You have a weak hitting catcher, you pinch hit for him in the 7th inning and your backup comes into the game.
Any thoughts?

I would rather have my kids never be pinch hit for just so they get ABs (and so I lose ;) ), but that is not realistic. I may just have to call up some really crappy players from the minors so my youngsters don't get PH for. Anyways I think it is fine like this because the idea of the game is to win.Pages: 1
