Miami slugger Heinz Pinkney called it quits today after 20 seasons with Miami. Gathered at the press conference were his wife and 7 yr old son. In an emotional gathering, Pink recalled the day he was drafted, and the moment he was propelled to stardom, his walk off World Series ending HR in 2000 as a mere 22 yr old. "Want to thank our GM, for drafting me and believing in me back in 1996. It's hard to walk away from the game you played since you was 4. But it was time. He had mid 40s health. Had he had 80s health he would have probably hit 600 HRs. Just 34 hits away from 3,000. Ever the team player, individual records did not sway him. His decision to be closer to his family won out over hitting the 3,000 hit mark.Pages: 1
