You ever have that feeling where you have to sneeze but just can't? Well how come if you look close to the sun(NOT DIRECTLY AT IT!) it will make you sneeze? I use that trick all the time, but I want to know why it worksJune 03, 2004 at 07:54PM View BBCode
There is something called the photosomething response (I can't remember the name exactly) that triggers the sneeze reflex when exposed to bright light. It doesn't work for everyone, however. There is a genetic link as it tends to run in families. I know this because it works for my wife and not for me. She's a medical writer and this intrigued her so she did some research. That's what she found.June 03, 2004 at 08:02PM View BBCode
wow. Well it's a neat trick, especially when you want to get rid of that annoying "I have to sneeze but can't" feelingJune 03, 2004 at 08:18PM View BBCode
It just came to me -- I'm pretty sure it's called phototopic response.June 03, 2004 at 10:00PM View BBCode
