FOURTEEN in a row?

ROTFLMFAO!!!

this team would have done better on cruise control with generic settings than with tried and true settings from a decent simd owner.

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

ABE is a genius.

That is pretty amazing. What usually happens to me is I do great in the regular season and then lose in the first round of the playoffs.

and then after the team was eliminated ABE made it win 4 in a row to close the season.

Yeah, crap like that makes it hard to spend real money on the game.

i have seen crap like this more times over the past 6 years than anyone can imagine.

i would feel the same way, but alas, I am addicted.

When I first signed up, it was back in the day when free leagues were 162 game seasons. I forgot my team as it took awhile for the draft to run and when I remembered I found my team something like 3-21. After I set things up and started paying attention to the WW, I was able to come back almost win the AL title, then go on and win the WS. I thought I would be able to keep the team, but they did redrafts same as now.

Then I signed up for a pay league, then another, and another, and another......

My favorite trial league team was one where I set the draft card for my hitters but forgot to set it up for pitchers. What I ended up with was an awesome closer and bunch of turd pitchers, BUT the most awesome hitters I have ever had.

The team averaged over 10 runs scored a game so it was able to make up for the terrible pitching. Yeah, almost 900 runs scored in an 81 game season - project that over 162 games.

Anyway, I was able to pick up some better pitchers from the WW as the season progressed, ran away with my league title, then outscored everyone in the playoffs.

I wish I had saved those draft settings as it was a fun team.

I'm kinda addicted too but so far have resisted the pay leagues. I played Sega's MLBManager for a while, loved it and hated it at the same time. The training was incredibly stupid (scratch-off cards). Also, the free teams competed with the pay teams so you know who won most of the time.
When that game closed down I went looking for another and found this. The graphics didn't compare but I got my fix. I do set up my pref's for the draft. I checked the boards after the first team didn't do so well, lol. I'm guessing a lot of newbie's just go with the defaults. I started this team because my other one dominated two (regular), seasons but lost both times in the first round. I've had that happen before (I've played for about a year now), so when this team was 1-3 in the first round I figured here we go again. But they came back and won the W.S.
My (A-) closer did so bad at the beginning of the season that I rested him as soon as I could and kept him out through the play-offs. I'm waiting to see if he got a wake-up call, ha.
