This is an incredible bunch of players. Every person that is not currently active on this list ? Fred Johnson Jr and Sam Evans are still active, but shoo-ins - is currently in the FRL Hall of Fame. 211 all star appearances (and counting), 20 cy youngs, 15 mvps, and 6 firemans are in this incredibly talented pool of players.
A couple of special shout outs to players that meant a lot to me over the years but are not on this list or did something incredibly that deserves to be mentioned. Big shout out to Buddy Miller, a Hall of Fame catcher who became the first 3rd round pick to make the HoF; big heartfelt appreciation to Lee Bennett, who has the 2nd most saves in Storm history and was an undrafted free agent that even won a Fireman; Darby Murphy, whose career could have been the stuff of legend had I not made him into a role-player in order to foster young growth on the team; Herb Stricklett, a SP/RP that did whatever I needed him to in the early years, who was also the first ever drafted Storm; a group thank you to John Giebell, Rich MacPherson, Charlie Coskie, Ralph Kelso (in his twilight years), and Joe Evans for enabling me to trade for an 18 year old Mark Mahler; and last but not least, to the owners of this league for making these last six years an incredible experience. I?ll have more to say on this before I leave, but I just want to thank each and every one of you for making this league what it was to me ? a richly rewarding, incredibly enjoyable experience. I don?t mean to insinuate any owner was more important than any other, but I?d like to especially thank Joe (PHI) and Willy (MIL), with whom I formed two of the greatest on-field rivalries I?ve ever been a part of, while being incredibly enjoyable to shoot the breeze with off the field. Whether it was talking about our current rosters, or laying out strategies, or even creating these ?Best Of? lists, you guys made this league so much more than I ever dreamed of.

That's one great bunch of players. Your bench would be competitive with the rest of our teams' starting nine! Hall of Famers like Fred Miller couldn't make the cut.

That is really scary, almost like a All-Time Yankees team. Speaking of that bench, it alone is better than my all-time great team.Pages: 1
