World Series Re-Match: Arizona vs Tampa Bay

July 14, 2013 at 07:40PM View BBCode

After advancing in 6 games, the Arizona Edge has moved on to play the Tampa Bay Golden Horde, yet again, in the World Series.

Last year's series ended in an exciting 7 games, with the advantage going to the Edge. After sweeping the Detroit Dukes, The Horde is motivated to claim a championship and beat the rival Edge.

"Last year was a devastating loss, so much so that it weighed on us during the first half of the season", said Horde first baseman and captain John Lugo. "We are really amped up to prove our worth after barely making the playoffs. Going up against the Edge, and former teammates Jeff Jacobus and Stan Ortiz is just added motivation."

The series starts tomorrow in the AM. Good luck to the Edge.

[spoilers]

The Horde hits 2 bombs off of former Hordesman and future HOFer Stan Ortiz but the Edge pull out Game 3 in extras.

Just noticed that 1-2-3 in the Edge lineup all used to play for me. :(

Game 5 is coming up...can the Horde finish it at home?

Arizona takes 2 of 3 to send it back to Phoenix. Road team has won four of five WS games this year!

And the Edge come back in the Bottom of the 9th to push it to extras, then win.

[spoilers]

Last year's MVP makes up for a terrible season with 3 homers in Game 7, and mid season acquisition Nick Batsch throws scoreless innings leading to Soderholm closing the door out of the pen. 3 home runs in the 9th inning for emphasis and the Horde stave off the comeback from the Edge and get revenge for last year's 7 game defeat.

Congrats to the Edge on a wonderful season and for another great, 7 game series.

Lou Boyd has been saved from all time GOAT status.

BTW...

Is 86 wins the lowest of all time for any WS winner? I haven't been around long enough to know...
