Currently there is no drama in a long run, it's hands off to Knight, Knight runs for 76 yards. Touchdown! There's no suspense in that. Can you imagine the suspense as you read whether your back can outrun the secondary?
Of course this should only happen on long runs, say 30 yards or more. If 30+ yards then have the play by play give this sort of descriptor. So you won't have many of these moments, but when they do happen, it would be quite riveting.

On the play by play, make it so that when a run of over 30 or 40 yards happen, that the play by play says something like for a play starting at 10 yard line "Plummer is in the open field! He's at the 30, the 40, brought down at the NO 46!" This isn't a bad idea, as long as there is a way to filter it out for those who aren't interested in the extra detail.Chris
