New feature: Future scoreboard

December 09, 2013 at 05:24AM View BBCode

If you view the Scoreboard page for a week in the future, it will now show you the matchups for that week along with a comparison of the offense of each team.

Note: If you don't see the bar graphs, you may need to refresh to pick up the updated stylesheet. If that fails you may need to clear your cache.

Nice feature. Any chance we'd be able to see a bar graph for the defensive side; rush and pass yards given up? There's a lot of chatter in the pay leagues about the lack of info about the opponents' defensive stats- bet they'd find it useful. Thanks.

Should be possible, let me see what I can do.

Okay, I think I got this. Hopefully this doesn't look too busy. Again, you may have to refresh a couple of times to pick up the style changes.

And what is the criteria the defines the colors of the bar graph? Is it just a quick visual to show which team is rated higher/lower of equal to the other?

I like it a lot. This should go over well in the pay leagues. I thought about asking about rushing averages on both offense and defense, but I know you're concerned about too much clutter, which is a valid point.

Maybe in the near future there can be a new "Head to Head" page where you can pick two teams and it will compare a whole page of major stats for those teams, and this page can link to that for more detail.

Yes.

In the current version it shows yellow bars when the two teams are plus or minus 10 yards from each other for a given stat, and shows green or red bars for bigger differences.

Is there any chance we can get those team defensive stats in the team stats page also? Very nice addition btw.

I'm looking to see if I can adapt that query to the stats page. The stats page code really needs to be reorganized; I wish I had the ability to look into the future when I start laying out code!

I really love this addition. Very helpful and will definitely be well-received. The defense has not received enough statistical attention to this point, and this will help head that off some.
