I certainly understand that many leagues struggle to fill slots. However, it really puts pressure even on the GOOD leagues like NGL to fill slots as soon as they open up (which we have almost always done in the past).
That Bot sounds like the kiss of death...

As one of the earliest members of the site (and probably the youngest at the time), I have seen the site slowly evolve..but I think it may have over-expanded without clear differentiation between leagues and without a marketing plan that could have solved these problems.
I think the site had a lot of potential, and still does. I contacted the Admin about possibly partnering with Steam..but it would be hard to convert it over, as well as making the owners of the site split a piece of a pie.

Wow pretty tough policy on speed leagues. Lucky for us getting new owners has not been a problem for the NGL so far .

I believe what will happen is that new leagues will come out of this by putting the good owners together in a new league. I have asked many times for a new league that starts in 1950. It would be nice to start a new team from the beginning. I also saw that they might be able to expand leagues to 24 teams that would also be a new challenge.

13 of 16 teams in the Dan Quisenberry league have Dynabots

I noticed that too! The DQL is one of two leagues that have settings similar to ours (Numbers and Variable Development), and it is nearly dead. The other league is the Dustin Pedroia League and that one is "winding down" as well. It's a real shame.

But like I said before a strong league should take on those owners who are willing to play and have an expansion draft. That would give this league a bump of new owners and a chance to shake up some old rivals with a challenge of an expansion draft.

Mixed bag in terms of what it means for us. I think we have a very strong league at the moment and with fewer leagues having similar settings, we may be able to attract attention easier when the time may be. On the other hand, maybe these settings aren't all that popular.
I think it is important for members of the league to continue to be active on the message boards...that goes a long way.

most people I've conversed with in all the other leagues I've been in, don't like the numbers league, which I prefer, and system 3 minors and many gpd to go with it is ideal for me. Others like only 3 or 6 gpd, which is just too slow for me.That said, I just may not be in SimD much longer....it's just growing stale for me
