24 Team Leagues

I am guessing, with two DynastyBots for the past three years+ that we are a prime target for being reorganized into one of these larger leagues that are forming. I was wondering what you all think about this prospect. From what I understand the new leagues start in 1950, so all the old league's history is wiped away. Personally I am really hoping it happens. I love the idea of having 23 other owners (rather than the 13 we have now) to make deals with and a larger, more useful waiver wire. Plus it will probably be the only way I will ever be able to be in a league starting from 1950. It would be kind of sad to loose the history (particularly since Mike Harrelson is about to retire and is probably a slam dunk for the Hall of Fame).

I agree with almost all of your thoughts. Minor point is that if you combine two bad waiver wires, I think you'll just get one large bad waiver wire...but who knows. A 24-team league is a new idea, so I don't think there will be a problem filling those up. It will give more teams a chance to make the playoffs so it adds another layer of the anything can happen crap-shoot of a post-season that already exists. More teams will enjoy the pennant race but it will be harder to win a ring. All in all, I think I agree that it would be a fun new challenge to play in one of them. I am a little concerned that the other option might be going down to 12 teams in the league, that could really make finding trade partners difficult.

Twelve teams including the bots are not renewed for next season. I know that the season before the merger to 24 each league holds its normal draft. Stud players who are drafted by teams not renewed go back to code bit universe as well as all the other players on those teams. Also teams that elect to stick around can trade with those who aren't until the merger happens. I would stick around if the league was more active. I have good players available but no one wants to trade. Is this the death knell for the JRL?
