Question about Pass Coverage

July 30, 2014 at 04:55PM View BBCode

How does DB Speed and AGL effect coverage when playing in a zone defense?

Is the Speed and AGL of the nearest DB measured against the Speed/AGL of the target WR the same way as it is if the same two players are matched up in man-to-man coverage?

They are but there are variations in other parts of the completion rate formula to account for the difference in coverage, depending on how tight the coverage is calculated to be.

So I am guessing man to man would be closest coverage, short zone next closest, and deep prevent would be "off" coverage?

My question has been a speed 98 WR should create plenty of room to catch the ball going at a CB with say 77 speed and both agilities comparable. Am i wrong?

I noticed a line in play by play.
The defense is keyed in.
What does this mean and how does it effect the play?

Also, it seems like there are a lot of dodged or missed tackles in game play. Wouldn't be so bad except for the fact they go for a lot of yardage. has anyone else noticed that? :puzzled:

"keyed in" is something you only see on the test server. It means the offense is overusing the play they are running and the defense is adapting to it. It happens on the regular server but only the test server displays it. Also, lines that say "DEBUG" will not be shown on the main server.

...also %chance of completion on pass plays.

As for dodged and broken tackles, if a defender lacks agility he will get dodged more often. If a defender lacks strength or tackling or if the ball carrier has good break tackle you will see more break tackles. I looked at your D and it looks pretty strong in these areas.
