His contact rates are too low to ever be an MVP. Look at this guy's splits vs RHP to get an idea of how Adams will fare (very streaky):

Rivera is only 41/88 vs. LHP though...big difference

And I've seen some c+/a+ guys have MVP seasons in the past

Right, which is why I linked to his splits--his percentages vs RHP should correspond to Adams' percentages against both RHP and LHP.
