Andrew, have you no soul????

July 11, 2004 at 05:38AM View BBCode

Do We All Got Small Nuts was the heart of what off topic is about. talking about nothing for as long as possible. Closing it just proves your lack of a soul or morals. i hope you burn in hell for all eternity.

the post was funny but it needed to die. Do you want it to continue past it's time completely ruining it's glory(I'm looking at you The Simpsons)?

Sometimes it's better to burn out in it's prime. It leaves better memories.

True, the Simps need to close shop, some episodes from the last season were just uncomfortably embarrassing...

the simpsons is still way better than 90% of the shows on tv. just because its past its prime doesnt mean it should stop.

it isn't past it's prime. It was past it's prime like 7 years ago. Right now it's just dying. The new seasons are embarrassing for what was once a great show. It is still better than a lot of shows on TV but it's nowhere near what it used to be. It needs to end before people begin to remember it by the later seasons

it is better than whatever crap would replace it, so it should stay. it does not matter at all "how good it used to be" for whether or not it should continue to be made, it only amtters how good it still is.

It's still better than most other shows because we can see it's better moments in our head when we watch new episodes and we always give the show the benefit of the doubt, but it really is running on fumes...

They would not have to put a new show on in its place. They could just put on reruns of its glory years and people would certainly tune in.

It's only a matter of time before the Simpson's runs out of credibility and people start viewing it as a horrible show. It once had greatness, now it doesn't. The worst part is they are not only ruining these current seasons, they're ruining the reputation of the show altogether, so when people see the early episodes they'll still think they sucked. It's only a matter of time.

The show is contracted to the end of season 16(next season). Please for the love of God don't renew the contract and let it die.

Indeed, last year was the first time in the shows' run that I can remember that not a single episode all season was memorable, and it's worse this time around....

Nobody is saying you shouldn't watch the Simpsons, but if you would prefer to watch another season like the last few rather then one of the earlier seasons (I bought the season 4 dvd not too long ago and it is superb) then you need help and I am not being sarcasic at all.

Who knows maybe this next season they will not bring the suckage, but I doubt it. And I don't about you, but it hurts to see something that was once so great fall so far.

I could ramble on and on about this but I will stop before I really get going...

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Who Shot Mr. Burns should have been the end of the Simpsons. It was a great way to go out and the show was never the same after that. Andrew, season 4 was really good. I liked Season 2 better but that's just personal preference, 4 is still great.

End with Who Shot Mr. Burns???????????????????

There were lots of good episodes after that.

It used to be amazingly great, now its only good, we should judge its continued survival on how good it is now (good enough) not on how much it has fallen from its prime.

well, barry sanders left in his prime. hes not remembered for his outstanding rushing abilities, hes remembered for being a total idiot for leaving the league. i think simpsons is still hilarious. its classic, whether you like it or not.

I think with it being a cartoon, it can return to its heyday, or at least it is more possible than if it were a show featuring actors and such. But I don't see that happening, it really isn't as good as it once was. They somehow got the idea that featuring non-relevant guest stars and trying to emulate south park was the way to go, and it might boost ratings short-term, but long term it kills the show.
They need to get away from trying to be something it isn't and look at its glory years. They could easily get it back to what it once was, if they were creative and humble enough to do so. An attempt would be worth it, it can't get much worse. And if it does, cancel it... I can't remember the last Sunday I watched it... not with Sunday Night Baseball, anyways.

yea i heard that they are hiring a lot of new actors and trying to get new characters like south park did. but lets see how that works out for them. theres really only so many things that you can do to keep a show from biting the dust. too bad it had to happen to simpsons. lets hope they can fight their way back to the top.
