I've been reviewing leagues that have multiple DynastyBots. You guys currently have 2 Bots, with 2 other teams for sale. One of those teams is scheduled to be taken over by DynastyBot if it doesn't sell by Saturday.
I have two leagues in mind that might make a good fit, but there are differences.
League #1 uses Numbers to display grades like you guys, but only plays 9 games per day.
League #2 uses Letters to display grades and plays 15 games per day.
There are no other leagues on the site that play 18 GPD, so if you want to merge we'll likely need to decrease the number of games per day.
I think League #2 would be a better fit. The new league settings would be:
Injury System 2 (you currently use 4)
Minor League System 6 (same as now)
15 Games per day (verses 18 now)
No restriction on SP (currently you allow only B- endurance or better for the first 3 spots)
Skills displayed as Letters (currently you display numbers)
On the other hand, if you guys like the rules the way they are, there's nothing that says you can't continue to play with DynastyBots in the league.

Thanks for taking a look at this. I agree that League #2 would be a better fit. 15 games per day is still a good pace, but I would still like to see the playoffs all played on the same day. I feel that is a fair compromise.

I do have a few questions?
1) Would the merger constitute the creation of a new league altogether, starting over in 1950?
2) How many teams will there be in this league? 24 teams is what I read on another thread.
3) Do you need an active commissioner? I would be willing to be the commissioners as long as others supported it.
4) When the merger occurs, do we keep our current rosters, or do we draft entirely new teams?

1) The league history will remain in the JLL, you can log into it and see it at any point. But the league will start afresh in 1970.2) 24 teams. Thanks for updating us on the status of a possible merger. I would like to merge with the other league that you have suggested in the above post. However, I would still like to see the playoffs all played on the same day. Again, I feel that is a fair compromise considering we are moving from 18 games per day to 15 games per day.Thanks

I would merge but would like the keep the numbers. I merged in another league and the numbers / letters thing was a debate. There is a setting that would allow those who prefer letters to see letters so I would like to keep the numbers and let those who prefer letters use that setting.

Ok, the other league is the Tommy John League. I've posted on their board to see if they are interested - my hope is that they will be. If they are for it, I'll start working on the details of the merge by the end of the week.Tyson

Four of the JLL owners, myself included, are also TJL owners. I believe 3 JLL teams are currently not being managed by their owner. Each league also currently has three Bots. So, with 100% agreement to switch, I count there would be 19 potential owners. I know some owners have said they would not merge. It sounds like there might be enough for a 12 team league in there. The rules are relatively similar.

I'll take a look at the teams and common owners, I hadn't realized there was 4 of you guys in both leagues. It may be better to just plug along like we are, or maybe look for another league that has less members in common.Tyson

We have 4 owners in both leagues: lockjaw, Hujik, drh000, and rdmsqito.
Besides those guys, we have 3 dynastybots in the Tommy John League, 3 DynastyBots in the Johnny Logan League. There are 2 teams for sale in the JLL, and 1 in the TJL. So assuming everyone wanted to do the merge, we'd have just 19 owners left. Leonard and kittens said they would leave if the league merged, that leaves us with 17. I'm not sure if drh000 would want to keep one of his teams, so that puts us at 16 owners.
In that scenario, I think we are better off just playing with the Bots for now and look for another league.
One situation I thought of was allowing the guys with 2 teams to keep both of their teams. But that still leaves us with only 20 owners, and the guys in the TJL said they would only do the merger with 24 teams.
Sorry - if anyone has any other ideas, let me know. I'll think about this some more and see if I can find a better league to merge with that doesn't have so many duplicate owners.
