'61 WS Rematch

The 22's go into the WS against back to back champ powerhouse BK in an effort to stop a 3peat and give the AL a championship for the first time in 5 seasons. Not gonna happen.

As Yogi says "it a'int over till it's over"

I thought I was looking pretty good to steal a win from Rondon game 5, two on no out in the ninth with the season MVP and 3rd place MVP coming up. Well a popup, strikeout, flyout plus a pitching meltdown in the tenth took care of that thought. Landrum never gave me a chance in game 6. There was never really a doubt about who the best team in the AL was this year though!

Good luck!

Thanks buddy.

Yeah the series couldve gone either way on a few different plays. i remember one inning i had 3 hits in a row and 0 runs scored (singles). i think one of your guys got gunned at home in another game as well

I think that 15 runs you put up on me in game one is the most BK has given up in years! Definitely got me worried, glad we bounced back to take game two. Should be a good series the rest of the way!

jinx

kida came in now and couldnt get it done

sidenote: ive noticed, with my team anyway, when an inning ending GIDP stops a rally for my hitters, the pitchers usually give up a run or two the next inning.

onto game 6 :(

I don't know how foolish it was taking Tilly 1st, it was a crappy class to begin with as there were very few All Stars from that year.

Well...i mean the logic was sound..he just didnt quite develop or be as consistent as i had hoped. The class wasnt great but Schirick has had his moments and Sprowl is fantastic right now. Sprowl, if I remember right, was 17/18 with C-/C- vs righties. I briefly considered him but didnt want to risk a bust at the time. Tilly was a fairly safe pick that I thought would pay off relatively quick and that was what my team needed. However, again, he hasnt had a good career.

I still am pissed at myself for miscalculating and ranking Sprowl 4th that year. I ended up with my 3rd ranked at 11 pick, Bob Gilliford who has been a bust. He did pitch well at Long A this season, so maybe I will still get some value out of him...Sprowl has been everything I thought he would be, just for Max!

Tough way to lose. I have to admit, I was pretty excited my 21-year-old scored the tying run on the game winning hit as a pinch runner.

im second guessing my idea to put leeper in the rotation with how my bullpen imploded..but brown and sackinsky were both terrible all around anyway...i was hoping rondon would be able to come out of the pen but even with a day off he was still in the red...which makes no sense since he was in the yellow when put back into the rotation. that error in the 9th was awful. just bad. at least i get to enjoy the red banner another season

Yeah, Sprowl has been a very good hitter, but have you seen his leadership?? His rating is 2 ! Talk about a cancer in the clubhouse! Last week he tripped a little old lady trying to cross the street...
