I just received a u2u from admin asking if I would be new commish and I said OK. So unless someone else volunteered and admin hasn't notified us yet I will be the commish. I know one of our top priorities is to discuss looking into possible merger. I am in two merged leagues and I am not a big fan of the larger leagues (24 teams in my merged leagues). However, they appear to be a fact of life as it is hard to keep current leagues filled. If the league votes to look for a league to merge with I have no problem in keeping my team into the new merged league. Variable Development is a big deal and we need to establish our stand on this topic. How many owners would not move to a league that does not have Var Dev? I like Var Dev very much but if the league decides we can drop this in order to merge I will keep my team and go along with it.November 15, 2014 at 09:34PM View BBCode

I like variable development, even though it's doing me no favors, but not so strongly as to make trouble over it.November 19, 2014 at 01:26PM View BBCode
First of all--Joe welcome as the new Commish--I have played in several leagues and while one or the other is preferred by some of you--to me they end up all being pretty much alike and here's why--if you can only put 20 points on your minors then a lot less guys get developed but all teams have the same chances and if it is variable development there is a lot of advanced players--some of which never get to play and some that seem to go south halfway through their career--same competiveness however!November 19, 2014 at 07:53PM View BBCode
agreed on pretty much everything written frostee. thing is, chances are the admins wont make any significant changes to programming. theyve usually been adverse to it unless they are adding something big (mentoring etc), which has been rare in the years ive been here.November 20, 2014 at 03:30AM View BBCode
Also agree with Frostee. I prefer the 16 team leagues but I would never leave a league just because it goes to 20 or 24 teams. I prefer variable development but I am in a lot of leagues with just about all the different development systems covered and I like the differences. Each system is unique and you expect different players in the end.November 20, 2014 at 04:17AM View BBCode
