Bobby Shreve, rescued from the scrap heap, doesn't even play against LHP but still somehow managed to hit 30 bombs (and even win a Gold Glove!).
And Charley Stanley won the NL Cy Young despite having stats similar to Brooklyn's Al Sayls, who pitched for the runaway division champs:

I will take consolation from these individual awards as Brooklyn drags my shuddering carcass out to the woodshed for the annual charade we used to call the "NLCS" but has come to be known as "Brooklyn's pregame tailgate".

Game 2 features a rare Houston road win with a comeback featuring homers by Izzy Joshua and Hunter Guthrie, both of whom were picked up off the waiver wire this season. Joshua even hit for the cycle in a postseason game!!

I am amazed that Izzy hit for the cycle. I had to laugh because I guess he had some game in him after all. He even got the single versus a righty! I had high hopes for him when I drafted him but he was a bust and never got it done for me. Congrats on a great season.Pages: 1
