With his ratings, he had no business leading the NGL in dingers, but he somehow managed it. Yet he still lost out by 2 votes in the ROY voting to CIN's Jerald Whitmer:

Whitmer was substantially better at all the rate stats, and he stole 32 bags (Connor has feet of clay), so he had a fabulous rookie year. But it is still hard for me to imagine a guy in MLB leading all of baseball in homers and not winning the ROY.
Congrats Tiny! Whitmer looks like he will be a good one.
