The sixth place Chicago White Sox completed a three game sweep of last place Toronto in Toronto. White Sox manager Pat Watson said after the game that, "This was vital for us. We have to find wins somewhere and with the state of our pitching recently it has been difficult."
His point was made by the poor four inning outing of Chicago starting pitcher John Seibern. Seibern went four innings allowing four hits and three runs.
Right hander Leon Hodges came in for two innings and was the pitcher of record when the White Sox rallied from behind.
Billy Hairston went three innings for his third save.
The Sox scored 7 runs on 13 hits. Chicago tied the score 3-3 in the fourth inning on Mike Boone' single.
One inning later they put together a three run inning that put the game out of reach. Boone doubled in two of the runs and Bill Maguire's single brought in the third run.
Mickey Denman homered in the 9th for the final run.
