The Jack McKeon League American League is bunched up from top to bottom this season.

Kansas City leads three teams at 11-9 by one game. The Monarchs lead Anaheim by two, Baltimore by three, and the bottom two clubs; The LA Stars and Texas by four.

Toronto's took a first inning lead in it's last contest on a one out blast off Los Angeles starter Dan Cooke. It was Womack's second of the season.

Veteran Norm Robinson started and went 8.1 innings (8 hits 1R/1ER 4BB/4SO).

Teddy Plank picked up save number eight by striking out Kieth Street and gettin Buck Frankhouse to ground out to second baseman Mike Buchanan.

It was Buchanan who drove in the tying and winning runs in the 6th inning with Bob Ostendorf on via walk from Cooke. Buchanan has four home runs on the season now.

Pinch hitter Dave Schoendienst hit a three run home run off Dave Hopkins with one out in the eighth inning. Osterdorf was on base again along with Ryuji Hidaka.

Cooke got the loss (1-1).
