First place Cleveland won the final game of their series with Boston 10-0 on 7 hits, 4 walks and 2 Boston errors. Urbano Lytle had three of those hits in 4 at bats and scored 2 runs to give him 10 home runs this season.
John Henninger went 9 innings to improve to 4-6. Henninger picked up his fourth straight win allowed 6 hits.
Cleveland hit five homeruns in the game; Charlie Gaetti, two run homer in the fourth off Julio Sadek, Lytle hit two homers, one in the third off Sadek and one in the fifth off Mel Benitez, Rich Jeffcoat, solo homerun in the eighth off John Pernell.

Jack Gandil was the winning pitcher for Oakland (4-3). Mike Lauternhorn took the loss (2-5).
Three run homer by Dad Fannin (14th) in the four run first inning spurred Oakland to the win.

13th inning double by Mike Sims and a Charlie Duncan single provided the win.
Toronto scored the tying run that sent the game into extra innings in the 8th on a sacrifice fly by Kevin Thomas.
Charlie Duncan and Rob Sweeney hit solo homeruns for Minnesota.
Detroit 2 Baltimore 1
Hal Crabb 9wp 4-4) and Mike Lavan, and tough luck loser Mike Lavan dueled into the eight inning in this the third and best game of the three game series that was swept by Detroit when all was said and done.
Rookie Pat Horlen picked up his second save with a scoreless ninth Detroit scored both its runs late to come from behind for the win.
The first came in the 6th inning on a triple by Larry Foster and a sacrifice fly by Reggie Johnson and the winning run scored in the 8th on a single by Josh Barnes that drove in Wes Parson who had walked and stolen second base.
